Probably not the first thing you think of when you think of LA LA Land, but why not? This city has some great museums!!
Head out the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) towards Malibu, a beautiful drive! Start your journey at the Getty Villa educational center and museum dedicated to the study of the arts and cultures of ancient Greece, Rome, and Etruria. Even if those niches aren’t your favorite genres. This setting is an absolutely breathtaking must visit!
On day two we went to the Getty Museum, an architectural masterpiece in my humble opinion. The day we went there an op-ed had been written in the Times – this place was busier than Disneyland! Dare I say us Americans may be getting back to what’s important?
My personal favorite was LACMA – completely different from the Getty experience. This place is over 8 hectares, seems to be a cool place for young hip Angelinos to meet up, and has everything from Ray and Charles Eames too!

Lunch at Ray’s is a must!
I was struck by this amazing life size structure between two of the many buildings
We spent an afternoon doing the docent tour at MOCA. I wish I could recall the guides’ name; she was amazing and didn’t make us feel incompetent because we didn’t get the big piece of burlap with latex coming out of it!
